Green Angels

If you have a current toll receipt from the Cuota or toll road between Tijuana and Ensenada, you are eligible for free roadside help. It's an insurance that the Mexican government provides for those who pay tolls. The Green Angels can assist you when you call from emergency roadside phones that are located every kilometer on opposite sides of the road. If you need a new fan belt, tire etc. they will accommodate you so you can be comfortably mobile and on your way. This is a free service in exchange for the toll receipt. Expect to be assisted by other motorists too. Mexicans are happy to help when there's a need.

Free Sol for Your Toll
The Festival Plaza on the main street in Rosarito offers another use for the toll receipt. They have a billboard on the Cuota or toll road stating that you can get a "Free Sol for your toll." Simply take your toll receipt to them to enjoy a free beer.
