Roberta Giesea trained as a high school English teacher before becoming a mother of five children. During her child-rearing days she co-authored books, The Family Idea Book, Volumes I and II, published by Deseret Books, that were designed to help parents raise children. She entered into the real estate field and became a top producer for Re/Max, winning awards given to those who are in the top one percent of the industry. Mexican vacations in Northern Baja California drew her permanently to that area where her passion for writing books was rekindled. "I enjoy living in a foreign country, especially on the beach where the sun shines," she says about her life in Mexico. "The Mexican people have an attitude about life that I admire. If this book can help those who visit or move here understand in a practical way how to live here, the bonus of appreciation for the culture will naturally follow."
